In Communication Payloads. . .

EMS has provided solutions to many commercial and military space communication programs. Today we are under contract for some of the world’s most successful and capable programs including Advanced EHF (AEHF), Wideband Global Systems (WGS), Transformational Satellite (TSAT), XMRadio, Sirius Radio, DirecTV, Skynet 5, and others. We are experts in low loss, low and high power beam forming networks and related RF power distribution, switching, combining, and control. Our capability spans the receive, IF processing, and transmit elements.

On the receive side we currently provide . . .

• Redundant Low Noise Amplifiers (RLNAs) - Small footprint ferrite redundancy switch optimized for lowest possible noise figure.
  We will integrate your LNA or provide ours.

 

• Anti-Jam Beam Nullers – Advanced nullers
  for mitigating unwanted receivesignals.

 

 

• Antenna Pointing Control –Low-loss autotrack modulators provide the best signal-to-noise ratio for pointing beacon signal. EMS provides the key building blocks and integrated RF sensing systems for all antenna pointing architectures.

Within the IF processing function we provide . . .

• MMIC Switch Matrices - Non-blocking cross-strap switch topologies with internal redundancy offer flexible connectivity and high reliability. Hybrid MMIC switch drivers achieve 50 ns switching times.

On the transmit side we provide . . .

• High Power Switch Matrices – Advanced redundancy and TDMA beam switching in high power. 


• TWTA Combining/Redundancy - Extensive experience in the thermal, mechanical and high power microwave design and analysis techniques. Unique reactive waveguide tee/circulator topology gives lowest loss of any approach. Innovative combiner configurations and packaging techniques minimize size and mass.
